    Windell,

    Happy New Year!

I did a search, but couldn’t find anything.

I am using font set at 132 (I can’t figure out how to get it to show me the actual font & size, but I remember the value.) When it prints, it prints just the outline of the letters.

I know I can use the hatch fill to fill in an object. But not what to use to “fill in” a font…

I seem to remember seeing something on how to fix this, but can’t find it by searching. Could you point me to the right lnk?

    Thanks,

    Fletcher

You need to reduce the text to a path by selecting the text and then using Path > Object to Path.  You can then select those paths it and hatch fill them with Extensions > Eggbot Contributed > Hatch Fill.

See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4943 for an example of Inkscape generated text filled in this way.

The Hatch Fill extension is without question the best method to use for text. We also describe some other methods of filling regions, here: http://wiki.evilmadscientist.com/Creating_filled_regions
