    Hello!

My new Axidraw V3 exhibits something worrying: When drawing small circular motions, it vibrates loudly – enough to visibly rattle the unsupported parts of the belt. It can be enough to add ~1mm jitters to the actual drawing.

I’m trying to figure out two things:

    • Is this normal/expected? It feels like it could be a belt tension issue or something similar – the plotter definitely lived through decent temperature changes when it was shipped (I live way further north). It definitely sounds like premature wear :/
    • If it’s not expected, is this something I should be able to address?

For some context, here’s a short recording of the issue happening: https://photos.app.goo.gl/L8HcFYhvw2t1o5Q4A

Settings for the recorded drawing (the vibrations seem to happen across the speed range, and with or without acceleration):
    – Drawing speed: 55%
    – Pen-up speed: 75%
    – Acceleration: Standard
    – Pen raising: Max
    – Pen lowering: Standard
    – No delays

    Thanks a lot!

It looks like you have emailed tech support about this as well; since that’s a better place for asking back and forth questions, we’ll follow up there.
