Hello! I want to explain the Flickery Flame circuit configuration to my students before they solder the parts together. The first time I manually traced the circuit, I saw a parallel circuit. But then I looked at the circuit with a magnifying glass and realized I mis-read a trace on the bottom of the board. Now I’m seeing a series circuit. Which is correct? Sorry for the probably silly question!

    Here’s the schematic: http://cdn.evilmadscientist.com/KitInstrux/flickery_flame.pdf

There are six parallel circuits, each with a resistor in series with an LED.

Thank you for the quick reply. That makes so much more sense to me — my eyes tricked me the second time I looked at the traces.

My students are excited to make flickering lights for their Halloween pumpkins – thanks for the nice kit!
