Interactive LED coffee table — worked for years — now 4 LEDS on at all times…

Hi. I have an 8 unit Interactive LED system that I built into a coffee table.

It has worked fine for years, but now I have 4 LEDs that are constantly on.

Something must have burned out.

Can you help me diagnose/repair?

The 5th LED in that group (D405, I think) is likely shorted out. Check the leads on the back to see if something has bent or caused a short there. If the short is above the PCB but under the LED, you’ll likely need to replace that LED. If the LED has burnt out and fused to cause a short, then replacing that LED is still the answer. There should have been a few extra LEDs in your kit.
