I would like to wire my own lights, because I have made ornaments out of wood about 1 foot hight.  I used regular lights and want to convert to led’s but just can’t see paying the price right now and can’t find the right count of lights anyway.  I would like to run off of house current like the store bought.  My searchs have me so confused, because I do not understand the basic terminology.  I do not want to get into moving lights, just solid color.  The wood ornoments have between 35 to 50 to 100 lights.  I am aware of serial and parrallel wiring, a bit about transisters, ohlms laws but the research has gotten me lost.

http://www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/resistors-for-leds/  this shortcut should get you going.  I think the information is spot on and easily adjusted to whatever project you come up with.  Good Luck
