After a few months of light use my AxiDraw v3’s pen height motor has stopped working – not lifting or lowering the pen while plotting. I noticed this after about a month of no use when trying a new plot today.
I mainly use the Inkscape plugin but I’ve tried using RoboDraw as well which had the same issue. The plotter hasn’t been moved at all since it was last working and has been disconnected from the power the whole time. The X/Y motors are still working perfectly and all the cables appear to be plugged in tight.
Any idea what might be causing this or how it could be fixed?

It sounds like the pen-lift servo motor may have failed. They are inexpensive and straightforward to replace, but do occasionally require replacement. Please contact customer service and we can send you one that’s ready to install.
